Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Hi all, had my VRS all of 3 weeks and I am very impressed. Feels much better than it should. Bought it from a Skoda Dealer in Morecombe. The only one I could find that had full leather, heated seats, electric sunroof. Want Xenon but could not find one. Only had 8k on the clock when I picked it up.

Been filling it the with Shell Vpower Diesel since day one. It is a great little car. As I am ex *Hell employee and my missus still works for them I have ample access to the benefits on this fuel. In the long run if you keep the car for 5 years the benefits of cleaner engine, less maintenance, more miles and a less polution balance the cost. Plus I get all the benefits of the vpower club!

2008/04/17 added....
Green Filter
Pd160 Pipe + Trumpet
Seat Momo Strut Brace

2008/04/20 added....
Jabba RARB
Bin Leon Splitter, to messy and does not look like a standard skoda addition.

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Congrats again on the dad front. And on the brakes, too. You don't necessarily need to go for the full 312mm conversion, but if you're running more power than standard, you should probably be thinking about some more aggressive pads at least...

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Thanks for the Info. Brakes sound like a plan, not sure on lowering it too much as the ride is about right at the mo. Plus don't wanna brake the babys back with a firm ride in the future. Wow, gone is my freedom!

Was thinking of replacing the standard speakers too. Anyone know of direct replacement options? No mods or parcel shelve holes please! :-)

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Lowering is OK as long as you don't mess up the castor angles and toe-in (i.e. no hacksaw jobs!) I find the ride height's OK too - some say it 'looks' too high, but I don't see the outside when I'm driving it!

There is plenty of info on replacing the speakers on here. The OEM ones are quite flat, so you will need to make an adaptor from MDF or similar, although the woofers at least are actually pretty reasonable unless you're looking for ground-shaking levels of bass. Some people disconnect the tweeters in the rear doors as they're quite close to your ears in the front seats, but I've not bothered with that either...

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Congrats on the purchase and the future new arrival!

Obviously the £££ available make a differece, but this is what I did:

- Jabba Remap, Eibachs and RARB
- 312mm Brakes
- Koni FSDs going on next week

Having had a completely standard example a few years ago, it is now a very different car and I have high expectations of the FSDs.

Cheers!

Jon

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Hi Coopers welcome to the site mate

I'm in exactly the same boat as you mate I usually drive my Golf but we found that were going to have a baby so the wife has had the Golf (it's more comfortable) and i get to have fun with the vrs

I'm also in a race to get as much done as possibe before the birth within reason as I know I wont be able to do anything once the baby arrives lol.

I'm putting all the stuff i do on my blog Skoda Fabia vRS - Project Greedy if you want to have a look

Keep us up to date with what you get up to

And good luck with all the Dad stuff

Chris

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Added the following today. Not sure why the Strut brace is red! Thought it would have been black like your project greedy. Ah well.

Green Filter
Pd160 Pipe + Trumpet
Seat Momo Strut Brace

Will wait till weekend to put on the Jabba Rear ARB and seat splitter.

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

If I owned my wifes fabia vrs I would certainly go for the brake upgrade, once you upgrade to the 312mm setup you wont go back.. Have a look in the items for sale section., there's quite a few bits for the fabia vrs in there at the moment.

Re: Fabia VRS 56 - My new Project

Added RARB today. It is hard on the hands even if you mold it round first. Also was adding the Splitter and when I fixed it all in place with tape it did not look like a perfect addtion. Its now in the Bin! hehe (moto, do not add something cos some else did!)
