Default Heater blower resistor

Hi,

The resistor on my 1.9 estate has gone, and only works number 4 settings. The threads I have read here has been very useful, thanks to all.

The problem is I can't get the replacement part from my local parts dealers (not even GSF). Please anyone knows where I can buy it (even 2nd hand) and how much it cost.

Many thanks

I don't understand why you can't get it. What reason do they give?

Well my local dealer is a bit reluntatant, and others saying it might take a while. So I left with little choice but look elsewhere that has one in stock.

Try another dealer. If yours won't get you such a simple part then there isn't a great amount of hope. Unless he said he didn't have it in stock and you didn't ask him to order it.

When you say local parts dealers I am assuming you've been to a Skoda dealers to ask.

What they are saying is that they really don't do this part, and my local Skoda dealership have non in stock and can't say when they can get one. I'm avioding driving miles to other delship just to get this part.

I'm guessing I can't get a match for it other than Fabia, right?

Wrong, the skoda dealer may not have that part in stock but if you ask, he will have it for you by 09:00 next morning (unless you are in outer mongolia then it may be around 12:30)

The same part is used agross the VAG group, and as I said earlier, all seat vw audi dealers may carry it or have it AM next morning,
All motor factors will have it usually about £28 including the VAT and it takes about thirty minutes to fit

remove glove box following the many guides on this site
top right unplug the resistor pack turn 45 degs to left, remove, put in new resistor pack turn 45 degs right connect plug replace glove box Job's a good un

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia...esistor/76732/

Here, you will read how and where along with pictures of it all

You can use search on this site and all the repair diagrams and info is there

Time for an amateur thirty minutes, time for a professional 90 minutes (elf and sfty see)
The Haynes manual will point you in the right direction, but will take you the professional
route, first remove front seat, to remove front seat, remove rear seat, then remove centre console
etc when if you are not elf and sfty concious ie you may get a scratched back of hand, Drop the glove box and fish, remove replace refit glove box

Awesome Thanks! I assume that the "noisy fan" method is the same way in to the resistor?
