| Problems continue with my very high mileage TDI Elegance.Whilst returning my car to my local dealer to rectify another fault the other day, I suffered a sudden electrical power failure. This manifested itself by: radio switched itself off ABS, ASR, seatbelt, airbag, PAS lights.... lit! indicators go mad Complete failure of PAS (quite alarming when negotiating roundabouts)! once stopped, car fails to start (flat battery) Just got the car back from the dealers after they'd had it for 9 days; they'd stuffed up a number of jobs and had a lot of sorting out to do!!! Amongst many other things, they replaced the voltage regulator due to an 'intermitant charging problem'. Anyway on my return home tonight I was feeling quite pleased as it seemed they'd finally sorted all my other problems (FOC) and the car was running better than ever. 10 miles into my journey and.... Blackpool illuminations and no PAS - AGAIN! After limping home and switching off, the car once again fails to start a la flat battery. I've rang the dealer who suggests I try a new battery. My question is, what is the correct capacity (AHr) battery for the TDI PD 100 BHP Elegance? Anybody have any alternative ideas/suggestions? |

| That is a puny battery for a diesel let alone one with the presumably heavy demands of the electro-hydraulic pump for the PAS.

| You will loose the radio code, but if you flick the ignition on it should go ino learn mode and recode. Just the clock to reset ![]() |

| My wifes Fabia had been stood a while so the dealer had stuck a battery on it from a 1.2HTP. We were getting power steering warning lights and intermittant problems. New heavy duty correct size battery sorted it out. Cheers Lee

| The engine ECU will also lose its 'learned' settings and will revert base factory settings.
