Default Key Fob and Blade Question

Hi all my flip key fob and skoda badge on it are excessively scratched.

I was wondering if I bought a spare KEY FOB off ebay with the 3-buttons and a blank blade, would it be possible to swap over my cut blade to the new fob and then programme the new key to my car?

Dead easy. You can programme the remote locking easily (there is a guide on Stu's site - Fabia-vrs.com). As for the immobiliser chip, you just need to take apart your old fob, pick the transponder chip out, and whack it in your new key. Piece of p1ss.

What about the old blade though? Can that be transferred across?

For a flip key, yes. You need to take apart both keys though, which unfortunately means taking the badge off your new one (thereby ruining the badge. However, as suggested above, if you're getting a new key you might want to pay a couple of quid and invest in one of the nice vRS key badges on eBay too.

The reason my key is scratched is because I could not remove the badge from the key fob.

Its really not that difficult but perhaps a little knowledge helps.
Have you managed to get it out yet?
The screw for the two halves is at one side of the recess not in the centre. So, its actually hollow under one side and you can get a sharp blade or fine jewellers screwdriver down and under to flip it out.
Send me your e-mail address and I'll send you some photos if it will help?
