| I was wondering if there was a thread detailing the known various common rattles and squeaks that occur in the Fabia? Did have a search around but just found some random threads with the odd suggestion of a rattle and how to resolve it. I seem to have a couple in my VRS: one that sometimes comes from the passenger side front door(ish!), and one that comes from the speedo/dials pod that disappears if i hold up the rubbery part of the dash away from the clear plastic (in front of the dials). So - can everyone who has had a squeak or rattle and resolved it post here with the details? Where it was, what it sounded like and how you fixed it would be good... Thanks

| Oh, and i'll start: Squeak coming from the front passenger chair, turned out to be the clasp that receives the seatbelt rubbing on centre console...sorted by putting a small black sticky felt pad between the two. Easy!

| That's not helpful! Am trying to get rid of all my squeaks and rattles once and for all, so was hoping to compile all the known ones and work my way through the list at the weekend! I know there's a common one that comes from behind the middle vents in the dash but can't find any more info on it...any ideas? Any more common ones also?

| Our Fabia SE is rattle free , in fact it's spookily quiet... Perhaps my Grumpiness scares the squeak/rattle monsters off. My old vRS had the usual quota, but sticky pads and swearing sorted them out. I think that as newish cars go. the Skoda range stand up pretty well in the rattle market, new Vauxhalls suffer badly, as do Suzukis.

| My vRS is very quiet too, no noise to report in the last 3.5 years of owning her. Ben

| My SE rattles all over the shop - driver's door card, centre of dash behind vents, something behind the glovebox (have had this out - can't see anything obvious), passenger b-pillar trim and, worse of all, something behind the offside wing when you slam the driver's door. ![]()

| Most of the following already covered above but here's a brief summary of the rattles/vibrations that afflicted my Fabia vRS and the solutions. 1. Rattle which seems to be coming from the glovebox area. Source wasn't the glovebox; rather it was the bonnet stay and clip. Some adhesive backed foam tape between the stay and the clip then between the clip and the bonnet did the trick. 2. Vibration at 1500/200 revs. Source was the passenger seat belt anchor vibrating against centre console. Used the same foam tape as in the above between the steel strap and the console. 3. Rattle from rear seats. Lift the clips, fold forward the seat backs and turn the rubber stoppers anti-clockwise 1/2 a turn; fold back into position and repeat if necessary until there is no free-movement. 4. Creaking sound from front. Lift the bonnet and on both sides near the bulkhead you'll see a rubber buffer. Apply some silicone grease to the rubbing face.
