Yes to both tbh Bob, just to be on the safe side.
It may be an unwanted expense at hoilday time, but you can then zoom off with impunity.

Re: Opinions Requested!

It would probably be a good idea then, as they advise they are changed at 4 years anyway...

however mine did 78k on its cambelt no worries (mine was due to be changed at 80k.. it was two years old..)

I think places like jabba and awesome can do this for less than £500.

Awesome gti are not far from ourselves and quote £295 for a cam belt change on the pd engine. Think ill be taking mine there when its due .

Really?

Nice! My warranty will be all done and dusted too by January so it wont matter where I take it or whatever. Excellent. Thanks buddy.....I'll be giving them a shout.

A lad who I work with in York (Danny) took his Octy 1 vRS to Awesome for a remap I think. He was happy with the service and everything.

Re: Opinions Requested!

I know, it's just I imagine if Skoda wanted to be funny about warranty claims, it'd be aggravated using a non dealer for servicing etc.

I've just looked on their site.....£295 plus vat for a transverse PD cam belt change. Then there's the 20k service on top of that (£170 plus vat) if you have it all done at the same time such as at 60k.

Works out at £546.38 inc vat for the lot.

I wonder if that includes the water pump change too?

Re: Opinions Requested!

I'd have more faith in the specialist independent garages TBH.
