| I want to fit a limited-slip differential (LSD) to my Fabia vRS pre-remap but which is better, Peloquin or Quaiffe? The Quaiffe is made in the UK and about £1200-1300 fitted whereas the Peloquin is US and hundreds of pounds cheaper. Is the Peloquin cheaper because it's inferior (rubbish?) or just because car related materials in the US are cheaper? I guess nobody has experience of both, but I'd really appreciate comments from anyone who has either. Thanks!! |

| my 2 p worth - the yanks seem to think their peloquin is built stronger (do a google to see reams of forum discussions). Also the peloquin includes the bolt set you need. You pay extra for Quaife I hear. On the plus side for Quaife - you get a warranty if fitted by a designated UK supplier. HTH Bas

| I love my Peloquin. For £600 and a few hours labour, it's spot on. Not harsh at all and just provides the grip where it's needed. I believe peloquin was made in the US as a more VAG specific application, but i cannot verify this. I also cannot compare Quaife as have never driven one with it, but I imagine it's the same "kettle of fish" at the end of the day. Both ATB diffs.

| I have just bought a Quaiffe for the Golf (its waiting for me at APS when I can get over there). Not sure on the 02M six speeder but my 02J has come with a fitting kit. Not sure if this includes diff bolts as yet. The std rivets will need to be driller out so the diff crown wheel can be swapped over fromt he std diff. Not to mention the rivets fail and destroy the box anyhow.

| If you are paying someone else to fit it then get a quaife as if you get it from an approved fitter the lifetime warranty also covers the labour AFAIK. I know someone who had a peloquin which failed, it was covered under warranty for parts but the labour wasn't and as the diff had to be sent back to the US before a replacement was sent back it resulted in alot of expense and downtime.

| I've had the quaife diff fitted to mine & yes the bolt fitting kit does need to be purchased seperately. But I can't complain as its transformed the handling, twisty little B roads are an absolute joy now ![]() |

| I've had a Peloquin for over a month now. Its like driving with all-wheel-drive ![]() I got it fitted by Jabba and if I had any issues (warranty), I know they'd sort it. They've got a good relationship with Gary (Peloquin) and these days, its probably as quick to get parts from the States as it is from Kent ![]()

| jabba sell both the quaife and peloquin, the quaife is the more expensive, they recommended the peloquin, when a man recomends the cheaper of two products that they sell, and would proffit from the sale of both then i believe they sold me the better product,i won't go into detail on here, but Brian explained to me exactly why he rates the peloquin over the quaife, and as he would make more money on the quaife then i think he sold me the right product, and jabba fitting costs are WAY cheaper than anyone else, this mod has transformed my car, straight line or in the corners it is a 100% improvement on my car with just the coilovers and arb,and all the braces,it really is that good, everyone who has been in mine is blown away by how it handles, including big bhp imprezza owners on a recent track day, this is the mod that really gives a fabia proper handling,i have never driven a better handling car than my fabia ![]()

| Big plus if you have performance pro's like Jabba fit it - no worries at all. I was forced to DIY fit mine myself and although it was extremely fiddly, needing some specialised measuring tools, it runs like a dream. If importing it yourself - remember to have it labelled as a BBQ smoker unit and have the declared price from Peloquin, ahem "optimised"... HTH Bas
