| I believe the 1.4-16v has a "map" for higher octane fuel so it can take advantage of super-unleaded. Whether it is worth it will be your call ![]() Chris

| Briskodian | Sorry for sounding daft, but if i put super unleaded in, the car will sort itself up to run on it.

| It sure will - basically the ECU will detect the higher octane fuel and adjust accordingly. As Chris says, mainly depends on the price/performance thing, which is a personal choice.

| Briskodian | I`ll give it a go next time i fill up, and see if it`s worth the extra money.

| Give it a couple of tanks before you evaluate the differences.

| Filled my Octy up with Super unleaded at Tescos in Stirling today. It was the same price as normal unleaded!

| Definitely not worth it for 7p a litre / £3 a tank more on your Fabia IMHO For a car where it makes a significant difference to the power output (say 3%) it might be, but I would bother to be honest. Don't get me started on Dodgimax after my personal experience on an Impreza, though ! |

| Aren't all Fabias designed to take in 95 octane and higher?? Oh oh, funny stuff I found out here....diesel costs MUCH more than petrol!!!!!!!!! Yeah, so buying a Fabia vRS here ain't a good idea!

| Briskodian | I run 97 RON all of the time now, as it is only about 3p a litre more from my local esso, but we do seem to have some of the lowest fuel prices around in my area (currently 85.9 for normal unleaded, recently gone up about 3p/l). It certainly makes the engine feel smoother, and IMO a bit more torquey lower in the rev range (around 2000 - 3000RPM) where it really needs a bit more oomph (just have to try and keep it above 4000RPM then!). |
