| Thought I'd give a little summary of progress so far and hurdles yet to overcome. In the word's of Jason Vs RunDMC - It goes a little something like this: Ripped PD100 out of Fabia, along with SMIC Inserted PD130 with salvaged outer hubs - Beforehand, opening up to fit in JBS 400 lb/ft clutch. Can't wait to run it in. ![]() Camber was miles out, so renewed both (crash damaged ) outer hubs, renewed both consoles, and the subframe. This sorted out camber issues.PD100 gear cables (5 speed) wouldn't attach to six speed gearbox lever (all was reversed or something) so six speed box fitted with vRS gearknob too. FMIC is bolted to bumper mounting bar, chopped out bits where fitting an issue and to improve airflow. Problem with Allard pipework not fitting pd130 inlet overcome by using OEM bend, and chopped off bracket and attached to metal pipework Still need to resolve that inlet & outlet of hybrid turbo is bigger than pipework going to it. ![]() Found PD130 engine harness didn't hook up with PD100 compartment loom - PD130 compartment loom on the way - hoping it matches up fine with other engine bay components like foglights, etc. vRS dashpod went in easy though. Bodywork sorted - rust has been cut out and arch reformed - looks very good - also sorted out gap in rear bumper & flushed the boot badge area too. Also sorted out front bumper that I hacked about with a stanley knife to remove numberplate area. Getting motorcycle style plate for new private plate. Reckon it will fit nicely between front left fog & the new "mouth" - Ripspeed mesh used in the "mouth" to protect FMIC from large missiles.Hybrid turbo is still to go on the block but there's the pipework issue to sort out too. Also got new pair of hub nuts on the way too - hopefully the last new bits I'll need from Skoda themselves. ![]() Ahem, can't think of much more I've still got to do. The loom is the BIG job next, then it'll be the small matter of reprogramming the keys and I'll be well away I hope. Oh, and need to put some oil in the block & gearbox. ![]() Onwards and upwards. Forgot to mention, I'll be back to Jabba mid August now, after rebooking to allow for time to be spent on works. ![]()

. At the moment I'd say if I'd got what my car is worth - say roughly £4k+ with the mileage, etc, the amount on top I've just spent on mods, would not bring me up to buying & running a vRS Fabia.... and like I always said I don't want a standard car... Its like spending money to start from scratch again. No way do I want to do that. ![]() But as a guideline - £5,000 would not be far off, but bear in mind engine, box, clutch, turbo,FMIC all cost enough alone. I still have labour to fit to pay as well. I also still have the old engine, etc as an "asset" to sell which should offset some of the outlay. Heaven forbid some PD100 owner off here should have a little problem . ![]()

| Give you a tenner for your old PD100? ![]() Apart from the keys & loom, etc, is there likely to be any more stumbling blocks?

I can't honestly think of ANY further possible stumbling blocks, but one or two are bound to surface. Only thing I can see if breaking something in the removal / refit of the loom, but after Ross' kind words I think its not as hard as it sounds - There can't be that many electrical appliances under the bonnet, plus I'll have ETKA type thing as backup to ensure what each plug attaches to before attaching. ![]() Edit: I think to get yours converted to diesel you'd need a lot more than just anything I can provide.. fuel tank and fuel pump for one. ![]()

| Glad you got a game plan. Im kinda feeling the same. My pick up is in pieces with alot of new parts to go on before we can even start the prep work for the paint. Its helpfull to have a plan and just work through one item at a time. I seem to be getting one item done a night at the moment. Good luck mate. |

| Oh I forgot about one other thing. It would appear the exhaust manifold / exit thingy is in a slightly lower position, which has had the effect of forcing up the tailpipe end of the exhaust against the bumper on the vRS rear end... Some exhaust bracket BUTCHERING will be required to lower it again to its normal position, although I'm starting to think a nice big oval tailpipe would be nicer in the vRS "exhaust gap cutout" than the double one hanging down below it, looking a little oversized. Thanks for all the good wishes. After a long time its all starting to come together... However I never envisaged a 6 week build when I first started.... ![]()

Gonna be treating her gently for quite some time until I'm 100% confident the conversion has been a true success.
