Is this on properly?

This is a discussion on Is this on properly? within the Fabia I forums, part of the Skoda Model Discussion Area category; Fits OK, but it looks awfully low. Doesn't appear that it'll fit the other way up, though......

It looks like the flange sprocket may be misaligned with the tertiary grommet as that is way to low.

It's a TDI.

Just had another look. It defo can't go on the other way up as there is a gearbox in the way on the nearside of the car.

Didn't come from a dealer. Came from ScoobyChris, who in turn got it from Roo. It was actually on this car when Chris owned it, although he took it off before he sold it to me. Now I have it again.

Is is definately on the right bolts? Where is a Wiechers expert when you need one?

Hey you had a Wiechers??? Cool! I'll show you mine on Friday...it is one BEAUTIFUL brace...an upper brace...nothing like you've seen on any other Fabia I guarantee!!!

Whoa...Jamlip is right...the one in the link does look different...it FITS!

Maybe the one Chris sold you is an older model Jamlip. Because it did bolt into place...

Oh, and Chris, my brace is in that link

That ain't the fabia one. The one you have looks right to me (shape) But can't remember what mine looks like on the car as I only had a brew look while it was on Awesome's ramps.

But how can it not be the right one if it is quoted by them as the right one??

Ha!

Just had another look and it sure as hell isn't going to go on the other way up.

Maybe it was meant to go on a Fabia with a smaller gearbox. That would make sense because the kink would go over the engine mount...

Well its not the alloy one I got of them. It was the same as Roo's one but in alloy. Unless after they found out it doesn't fit the vRS model they changed it?

What does it look like with the lower engine cover fitted?
