| Briskodian | question about the 1.4 16v engine hi there. the missus is after a Fabia, yesterday we went along to see one that was advertised in the auto trader. its a 2001 Y 1.4 16v auto (so the 75bhp engine?). had a look over the car, nothing unexpected there, but under the bonnet i saw either a large vacuum hose or a heater hose (10mm id, ish) that was blocked off with a bolt. the bolt had blue paint on it and to be honest looked like it should have been like that. it emerged from around the back of the cylinder head (on the bulkhead side) and aimed toward the gearbox. i couldnt work out what it was for and am posting to ask if they all have it. the car incidently had aircon if thats any help. thanks |

| Re: question about the 1.4 16v engine ![]() it may have been one of the auto gearbox oil cooler hoses... on it could have been the breather hoses from the oil seperater box on the back of the engine block |

| Briskodian | Re: question about the 1.4 16v engine but it was plugged with a bolt. the car was owned by an old lady so i doubt she had done any custom modz to it herself or any diy bodge repairs. ill see if google can find a pic lol |
