| Guys and gals, I'm going to be taking my 312mm brakes off my vrs over the next couple of months and will be looking to put the original 288mm brakes back on. These have been in the garage since I took them off about 18 months ago. I just wanted to check whether they will be ok to put back onto the car after being untouched for a while. They look to be in good condition and the garage is not damp so no rust is visible. Are there any checks I should do and will it just be a matter of putting them back on and bleeding the system? Thanks in advance...

| I would have thought it would just fit back on. The thing I'd be most careful about is the brake fluid nipple where the hoses attach. I think it should have a cover on it, but obviously you want to make sure it's clean and has a minimum amount of air in it. Out of interest, if there is any air (micro-bubble size), does it eventually work its way back to the top of the reservoir, or is the does the fluid viscosity / diameter of the hoses prevent it ?

| Make sure the hub is clean before you put the disks back on.

| Just out of curiosity, why are you guys switching back? I just switched to the 312s with Zimmerman discs and I'm quite happy so far. |

| What he said Without a doubt I prefer the 312mm set up, but I want to sell the car as standard so I can make some money back on the mods as well as having a wider market to which to sell the car! Thanks for your responses guys - very helpful.
