yes it's adhesive, but the boot has two little holes for locating the badge so that it is straight. if you want to go for the totally clean look these will have to be filled in

do u know how far apart the holes are? I could debadge the whole rear of the car and just stick a new vrs badge in the centre to cover the holes!

I believe they are close enough together so that you can stick a vRS badge on thm if you wish. The Fabia vrs badge is more or less the same width as the Skoda badge and the holes are not that big, just small locating hols.

Are the front and rear badges hard to remove? If there's holes in the metal is it accessible from the inside of the boot lid or is it simply a case of hairdryering it until it will pick off.

get a hairdryer or somehot water - but not boiling - on it to melt the glue

then use some fishing line to pry it off
