Default Rero fit EDL & ASR

Looking at the Mk1 Fabia brouchure I notice that the above are a Factory Option for fitting to the Bohemia Estate for all of £50 - anyone know if they can be done at the Garage?

I'm thinking of buying a secondhand 1.4TDi later in the year and would want these (and Cruise Control which I know can be fitted retro). Looking at my current car I suspect that it would only be a case of adding the switch and possibly software.

Suspect it can be done, but the ASR is very crude and tends to cut power when you most need it, so I personally wouldn't bother! If you want to retrofit some kind of traction control, you'd be better looking at ESP, but cost may be prohibitive here....

I don't think it would be feasible.

Apart from the wiring differances you'd need a new slip ring on the steering column and possibly a different controller.

I've found it very useful in the snow last year, only 4x4s had more grip! If it has so much extra I wonder why it only costs £50, even the Cruise is £125 and that only has the new switch!

When I mentioned the new slip ring etc I was reffering to the ESP that Chris mentioned which is around £450 IIRC.

Ah, that explains it - I am quite happy with the "crude" version, it does what I want it to on the very odd ocassion I need it!

Well they've come back to me, it seems the Cruise is no problem (as I knew!), but they can't do the EDL/ASR, so I'd have to live with just the ABS. Can't understand for just £50 why people don't get it - its a bargain compared with the hundreds they charge for metalic paint!

You could possibly install the CC yourself. Guide on my Fabia website.
