Re: Setting The Time

I believe you twist the trip mileage reset button (the black thingy sticking out of the speedo). One way does mins, the other does hours. Can't remember if you have to press and hold for a few seconds to get it to flash etc. Haven't had to set mine in ages.......

Re: Setting The Time

What Tom said

But no need to hold in for a few seconds for the time to stick, unless you want to reset your trip meter

Re: Setting The Time

'Tis a daft design IMO since if you push the black stalk in to reset the journey mileage, you'd expect to pull it out and then turn it to set the clock. Took me years of mentally adjusting for BST and two minutes slow LOL.

On mine, you simply move the stalk about 20 degrees left or right (for hrs or mins) and hold while it whizzes round, then let go when it gets to the hour or minute you want. You can easily fine tune the hands by holding the stalk for just a fraction of a second (left or right), but it's much more fun watching it whizz round and see if you can "win"

Regards
Mo

Re: Setting The Time

It would have made more sense to put it in with the indicator stalk functions surely?

Re: Setting The Time

It might have, but this way you can't accidentally adjust the time when you're trying to see your average mpg......

They could have programmed in a time zone like in the Windows Operating Systems and had it compensate for BST automatically !

Yeah, but then we'd never have had such a riveting conversation in this thread.

I was watching a programme last night, so riveting that I fell asleep. At least we won't be driving whilst reading this thread LOL.

Bright idea: An inbuilt timer that sounds at chosen intervals to bring back alertness when the road miles tend to lull one's senses more than one would care to admit. A bit off topic, but there have been times when I've sung rallying songs when the driver has a fixed expression staring into the gloom ahead... Alternatively, perhaps I could make a CD that's the opposite of calming whale noises There's an underlying serious thought here of course.

Regards
Mo

Re: Setting The Time

Could use heated seats for that - put it on max for a while every hour, burns your backside then - then have a kinda 'reset' button

Re: Setting The Time

hi all -

yeah - done it the other day - had to disconnect and remove the battery , remove the air filter - then remove the battery holder , just to check the power steering fluid - luckily it was bang on - so after putting everything back i had to reset the clock - if you look on your dash and go to the little plastic bar that sticks up its left for hrs and right for mins - sorry i do go on a bit sometimes -

hope it helps
