| I have recently purchased the Skoda Fabia 1.4 16v Sport (75Bhp). The question may sound silly but what is the difference between the 75Bhp 1.4 16v engine and the 100Bhp 1.4 16v engine? If it is only the ECU, can the 75Bhp chip be replaced with a 100Bhp chip? If this is possible, what would be a respectable price for such a mod? I also need to know whether the Green Panel filter will fit my engine, my plan is to fit a panel filter and run a length of induction hosing to force cold air into the engine. Do you think this is a more worthwhile idea than buying an Induction Kit? Thanks in advance ![]() Ooo Eye-Candy for any one that wants to look at my investment ![]() ![]() 17" Octy wheels with Eagle F1s on front (Rears from the Octy, fronts were bald) - £120 ![]() Rear half window tint - £180

| the ecu for the euro4 100hp version comes with a nice accelerator pedal lag. You might want to look into a remap of your current ecu instead. Petrol, non-turbo remaps are pretty scarce, but if you do a search on here I think you will find something. |

| Replacing the ECU is likely to be a large expensive job, and I don't really think it would be very easy. A remap however is within easy bounds - but I canne imagine you achieving 25BHP from a remap. Normally-Aspirated Petrols rarly get more then 5BHP in a remap. Why however, I am not sure.

| I emailed Skoda and this is the reply I received. "I have spoken to our Technical Support department and I can confirm that it is not possible to modify the engine to increase the BHP of your vehicle, due to the complex nature of the internal mechanical components" So theres my answer, without changing internals, 100BHP isn't a possibility I have got a Pipercross Intake on the way from my local Halfords and a local garage told me they can get in contact with Blueflame for an exhaust system. ![]() Never mind, from the other thread that was linked the 75Bhp engine is actually quicker in lower revs.. That's good enough for me as I don't go much past 80Mph on the motorway any way ![]()

| One of the bigger differences with the 100 is the cams apparently. The power/torque figures show what it's like to drive- we have a Lupo with it, and it's adequate at low revs, then shifts when the revs are up.
