| well skoda have finally got back to me about the broken alloy. there insisting they get the broken arb which the garage threw away over a month ago. because they cant get it there closing the case saying a stone has caused the damage and there is nothing they can do about it. Where do i stand? Surely this cant be acceptable!

| When was the ARB changed? was it under warranty? What do you have to gain by taking it further? Did you loose any money etc as a result of its failure?

| They didn't swap the wheel under warranty IIRC

| im a wheel and an ARB out of pocket. not to mention ive been driving around on my spare for over a month. the ARB broke as a result of the wheel hitting it when it snapped. for those of you who dont know of the incident look at my earlier post. http://www.briskoda.net/forums/fabia...one-day/53524/

| Ah I get ya. I'd say at the very least a letter/mail to customer service. Maybe even your CAB and why not a motoring magazine such as auto express? I dont see how a stone caused the damage, unless it was half a house brick. The standard caliper just doesnt run that close to the wheel, and if it did surely it would be a risk on all Fabia vRS's.

| If I'd been told that, first thing I'd ask is how a stone can do that...I mean, surely a bit of a design flaw, having a wheel which can be destroyed by something which makes up the majority of road surfaces! Rob. |

| I don't understand why Skoda need the ARB, the wheel broke first. If the ARB went and then the wheel that would seem understanable. I'd be looking for the cost of the ARB & wheel, if they refuse then seek advice. Ps. I think Skoda's warranty claims budget has taken a hammering from me alone! Paying for your own warranty work is obviously a VAG induced cost reduction technique! |
