Question special tool?

does anyone know what tool is suposed to be used to undo/tighten the strut top nut on the front suspension of a vrs? i had to get my local exhaust place to undo them for me as i couldn`t get `em undone. The guide on briskoda says to use a 7mm allen key but you need to turn the nut too. I got em done up again with a 21mm ring spanner and a hex socket off the car.

Yep there is a socket that has the side cut out of it so you can use a ratchet and allen key.

No because the nut is recessed down in the cap.

I have a ring spanner which has been ground to fit in the cup. I suppose I should invest in a proper tool really.

Or you could go to halfords and buy a socket for Ł2:50 and cut the side out with an angle grinder!!! That's what i did for my E21 3series BMW! Worked a treat!!
