| Squeaky wheels when turning right I've tolerated this for a few days, but I'm actually getting worried now. My car, when the steering is slightly to the right (most noticeable around roundabouts) is making a horrible sqeaking noise from the drivers side front wheel. If you apply the brakes, the noise immediately ceases. I've jacked the car up and there's no play in either front wheels. Has anyone got any idea what this might be? I'm assuming it's the pads rubbing against the discs, in which case I can only think of warped discs, but they don't judder that badly (they do a bit, but not massively). TIA. ![]()

| Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right I would think its the heatshield behind the disc touching it. |

| Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right Is there any reason that should have happened? The heatshield is metal I think - can I just bend it a bit to stop the noise? Thanks. ![]()

| Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right Usually happens when someone has changed brakes. Or could be a stone caught.. But heatshield can be tweeked back no problems. |

| Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right I changed the brakes about 2 months ago. Is it just a case of moving it about by hand, or do I need to take it apart again?

| Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right I've got this happening as well but it squeakes turning left as well and after a good few miles driving, it just starts to squeak going straight on and the brakes have never been changed. Braking does stop the squeak though.

| Briskodian | Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right Mine also does this. Its on its original brakes etc, but it also does it when travelling really slow, under 10mph. I just asume it is the pads just brushing the discs, as this was a problem on my Corsa too, just turn the stereo up and jobs a good 'un. |

| Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right I had this after just two months on my Fabia. Turned out it was a stone trapped between the disc and something else. Had to take the wheel off to remove the stone.

| Briskodian | Re: Squeaky wheels when turning right Mine does it too! Sometimes when steering and often when reversing, dealer couldn't find anything wrong with it and neither can i! Probably leave it now as the car behaves very well and the brake pads are still fine. |
