Default Symphony MP3

After a lot of searching, found this:
Solisto Car MP3 Player -> Volkswagen Audi Seat Skoda Becker Porsche Bmw

Once Santa's delivered it, will report back on how it is.

It's an MP3 player for VAG OEM radios. Plugs in instead of the CD multichanger and plays MP3 from (pretty much anything but I'm going to use) a USB pen drive. Plan is to put the unit up on top of the glovebox and mount a USB socket for the pen drive above the aircon feed.

Fingers crossed

Should anyone have any suggestions about how I could mount a USB socket I'd welcome them. Current plan is to use a USB extension lead (something like Amazon.co.uk: Belkin Pro Series USB Extension Cable 1.8m: Electronics & Photo), cut a slot in the glovebox and hot glue it in from the back. If it looks untidy I thought that I could cut a surroud and put that in front.

Here in Czech you can buy Symphony radio with MP3 (for Fabia and Octavia I) from company that supplies and mantains the warranty repairs of all the radios for Skoda.

The price is round 2.000CZK

It´s said that they are replacing the CD mechanism inside the radio only.

BRM s.r.o. - Czech only

2.000CZK = aprox 50 quid! Solisto is 150! Oh well.

Does it play MP3 from a CD or from a USB pen do you know?

Have been trying to decide between a CD changer and a Denison Ice-Link for the iPod, looks like I now have a third choice!
Anybody have any feedback on using an Ice-Link with the Symphony CD player?

Only from the CD, as there´s not USB slot on it
