| Yes you can. I have Avon ZZ3 fitted and they are very grippy, even in the wet (big improvement over the Marangonis fitted before).

| No. I have had 215's on for 16 months now with absolutely zero uneven wear.

| I used to fit that size to mine... I had the avons (grippy, you're right) but one nearly exploded on me, after damage caused by wear on the inside edge.... however it was doing this because of shagged console bushes, when I had the bushes replaced, no uneven wear.....

| Mark, Just a couple of pictures of the 215 fitted on the standard rim. I have left the file size as large to show more detail. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

| Blimey, there really is a saving on this size. Are there any reasons why I should order the standard 205/45/16 over 215/40/16. Will the speedo be OK on these? Also can you run rears on a different size (if I replace the front)? I was going to get some Toyo Proxies T1R's at the standard size for £57 each, but I can get the 215's for £49! |

| Can't see much difference to the speedo. The width will not affect it but the profile (height) may. Most speedos are a good 10% wrong anyway.

| cheers jon nice car was looking at a silver furby myself but could not find a decent one anywhere so got a black 05 with 5000 miles last november for 9000 regarding the handling i find i have more confidence than i had with my 01 puma the only prob i have is with wheel spin and torque steer maybe wider tyres will cut some of this down, mark |

| Jonnyboy are yours 215/45 or 215/40 in the pics? I need 4 new tyres so may get 215's if there cheaper |

| Does anyone know what the official insurance company stance is on fitting a tyre size different to that specified by the manufacturer? Seems like an easy payment get out clause to me, but I wondered if anyone knew any different? ![]() Chris

| I declare everthing about my vehicle and the tyres gave no increase in premium. I wasn't bothered about the cost though, they were purchased because I wanted a wider tyre.
