| Anyone else noticed this? Whenever I drive with the windows down, over bumps that make the shock absorbers work a little I can hear a PFFT PFFT noise as they go. I'm sure it's coming from the front dampers, but out of all the cars I've had the Furby is the only one that makes this noise over the bumpy stuff. It's on standard suspension by the way. Done a seach but didn't find anything relevant so thought I'd ask. Chris.

| Yeah I noticed this on my Fabia on standard suspension and on the Eibachs. Just assumed it was them working and I'm sure most cars do it. Not sure if the Mondeo does ![]() Chris

| It pretty much sounds like the dampers doing what they are designed to do, damping, its the movement of the fluid through the orifice check plates to give you a nice comfy(ish) ride, quite normal. ![]()

| Ah ok, so it's normal then. ![]() It's just that the Furby is the only car that I've ever heard it on. Perhaps because the tyres are quite thin and a lot of shock goes through to the strut?

| Wot they all said, pretty much, although I suspect the 'pffffft' is air being forced out from around the piston rod guard, rather than due to the action of the oil damper itself (which should be virtually silent). Nothing to worry about, either way |

| I got this on mine...asked the dealer about it immediately after getting car, but mechanic said it wasn't anything to worry about. If it continued and i was worried i could drop it by n he'd check it. I suspected same as you though it's jst the dampers doing their job. It's at it's worse on speed bumps n i go over some huuuge ones so i spotted it straight away.

| Are the vRS dampers gas or oil?
