VRS Seats

hi, i know this topic has been done a death, but as my seat look a mess, i am wanting a retrim, but, and here is the but, i fancy getting them trimmed in the same fabric but different colours, the cream part to be dark gey or even balck to go with the seat part,

anyone had it done? i just don't fancy leather without heated seats in the winter!

Ta in advance

ps. still looking in to white alloys, after the magnesium scare!!

Re: VRS Seats

find 1.2 sport seats at a breakers, may be cheaper than a retrim, plus you can then sell the vrs seats

Re: VRS Seats

It was to to do with how easily magesium catched light. the wheels are the same make-up, with no extra coating, i know i'm being a girl about it, but never the less!! i''' paste the bit:

Everybody's done that thing at school where you set fire to a bit of magnesium, yes? Well, apparently that's what happens to magnesium wheels too. Only with more vigour. She's seen rally cars destroyed in minutes because the wheels caught light, and water doesn't put a magnesium fire out.

I just assumed that magnesium alloys had a special coating that stopped that sort of reaction, or that they were a magnesium alloy which wasn't flammable. Something to bear in mind I think...

I've got heaters under my leather seats and very rarely use them; the leather gets heated up by the driver's body heat quite quickly, even in the backrests. The leather has a foam insulation backing bonded to it which helps comfort and warmth.
(The new leather cover is next to the sewing machine in the photo.)
