Default Xenon and main beam

Not got my vRS yet. Hence this question: Is the headlamp unit two xenon bulbs (at each side)or just one with a normal bulb for main beam? and if it is is it easy to get to if I want to replace it?

Fabia xenons are dips only, and the mains are a pig to get at.

I got some 50% uprated Philips VisionPlus bulbs from Powerbulbs (with free blue sidelights) and happily accepted my dealer's offer to fit them for me. [Little did he know he would have to remove the front bumper to do it! - although removing the battery and fuel filter is an alternative strategy for gaining enough room behind the headlights.]
Xenons+uprated mains are actually pretty good, IMHO.

Oh and check that the Xenons are aimed correctly when you get the car - often they point about 30 feet in front of the car, which is useless.

I got the dealer to fit them. Whilst your at it -

1. Buy the bulbs (make SURE you get the right ones!!)
2. Buy indicator bulbs of the clear type
3. Go to dealer, pay whatever it was (30 quid I think)

That way they have to test the lights AND they have to relevel the Xenons. Mine got adjusted twice as they adjusted them lower than originals.

It's just the peace of mind + if they knock out another bulb they have to replace it (whereas I decided to let the dealer do this after giving up doing it myself).

Indicator bulbs at the front are pretty reasonable to do, but the main beam - foggetaboutit - I know others have managed & with patience you could too, no doubt, but I could NOT be arsed

TBH, if you get the xenons aligned properly, you'll hardly ever use main beam. I think I've used it 3 or 4 times in the 8 months of driving the Fabia.

I've changed the sidelights about 3 times now & can swap them around in about 10 minutes without removing the headlamps or any components behind them (apart from the ballast unit on the N/S). Started with Philips Bluevision bulbs which were OK but I didn't like the look of the blue filter when they were switched off. Then tried some white LED's, but they were crap! The ones shown in my avatar are ultra bright xenon white LEDs, which I do like.
The main beam bulbs I haven't touched, as they are sufficient for my needs.

I've got another project brewing for the D2S xenons bulbs, but more of that later!

Possibily!

Changing the colour temp to 6000K(Kelvin) instead of 4000K.
In other words, going for a hint of blue instead of the standard white (which sometimes looks pale green).

Nice - will be interesting, you gonna try and make some pics (possibly also from the 'how-to-change-bulb-with Xenons' angle )

Nice

Yeah, pics will be posted, as always!

It won't be the correct way to change the bulbs, but it will give you an idea of how they're changed.
