| Briskodian | Re: fabia2 1.4tdi The local Skoda dealer had an advert in the local press last week which said the 1.4 was capable of returning 69 mpg plus.Suppose that is possible given the right conditions and that you use your right foot lightly. I'm thinking of a 1.4 diesel option for the next car, but last time at the dealers I asked about the 1.4 diesel, the saleman didnt think it would it worth me paying the extra for a diesel considering what economy I was getting from my current 1.2 HTP, of course you have to take a more raised road tax. Would like to try out this new Greenline model which is due in April. Why not do I like I'm going to do is have a test drive and then see if you like? |

| Re: fabia2 1.4tdi How long have you'd the Altea & the Octavia before it? What reason did you've for buying each of them respectively? What was the reason you switched to the Altea? What are your reasons for wanting to get rid of the Altea? Why have you been considering the Fabia specifically with the 1.4TDI? When both vehicles you've had previously are of compact & not sub-compact size. As well both we're equipped with the 1.9TDI... Answer most of the questions & your answer will be plain as day! ![]() |

| Briskodian | Re: fabia2 1.4tdi greenline And the Skoda Fabia ‘Greenline’ can achieve an amazing 69mpg as a result, while producing only 109g/km of CO2. This puts it into road tax band ‘B’, with a charge of only £35 per year. Buyers can choose between a hatchback or estate version, with prices starting at £11,490 for the hatch and £12,140 for the estate. Skoda claim the estate boasts class-leading economy figures, with no other estates available in the Fabia’s price range with better green credentials. As well as changes to the engine, improvements have been made to the Skoda Fabia’s aerodynamics. Panels fitted to the underside of the car and different positioning of the front bumper help air to flow more efficiently around the vehicle. Combined, they give the Skoda Fabia ‘Greenline’ its low fuel consumption, and Skoda claim it has the ability to cover 689 miles between refuelling stops. This is an increase in range of 75 miles over the standard 1.4-litre TDI Skoda Fabia 2 on which the ‘Greenline’ is based. The Skoda Fabia ‘Greenline’ is available in green, back, silver or white and with ‘Greenline’ decals. The car is available to order now, with the first customers expecting deliveries from April 21. this sounds like a real gem |

| Briskodian | Re: fabia2 1.4tdi Well what I liked about the octavia, comfortable ride, fuel economy superb it truly was, problems very few wipers went at the end and I knew they were going to cost,I did car boots and it was a triumph never any problems but decided we wanted a new car, so out we went and bought the Seat Altea, What dislike about the altea well fuel economy their figures dont add up at all a lot of seats customers say the same, ride is OK a little firm but not uncomfortable very good at corners brilliant infact, but the fuel economy is dire and dont get me going on customer services aftersales cant swear online, one thing which I think is inherant in all skoda garages they are happy to help. But in truth the seat was an impulse buy which was a mistake,2 of my sons are in the military and I dont require this type of vehicle We as in the Royal We need to downsize and with fuel virtually 100% guaranteed not to drop lower than £1 litre ever we really need to think on the cost of travelling because we are rural so in essence that is the reson for the change |

| Re: fabia2 1.4tdi Skoda Greenline VW Bluemotion Seat Ecomotive All same concept yet when it comes to the Sub-Compact chassis. The Fabia II is the only one on the newer PQ25 platform. While the Ibiza & Polo are still running on the PQ24 platform. Interesting note the Ibiza Ecomotive/Polo Bluemotion both consume 3.8l per 100km on average & attain CO2 ratings of 99g/km. The FabiaII seams to come in at 110g/km of CO2 weather in standard hatch or Combi forms. ![]() ?koda Auto - ?koda Auto at IAA Frankfurt |

| Re: fabia2 1.4tdi I think one difference between the Greenline and the 'regular' 1.4 TDi is that the Greenline will be exempt from the new emmisions based Congerstion charge , Im not too sure whether the normal 1.4 TDi cars are or not.

| Briskodian | Re: fabia2 1.4tdi The 1.4 80 technically is exempt. The threshold is 120g and under. Whether this legislation is actually passed is another matter. |
