| Cos I'm fitting my 312's tomorrow! Enlisted the help of a colleague who's a Beetle nut and has an EZBleed and all the tools, also got the bonnet lifter kit and a recently hacked down to size TT arch vent to fit... Printed out Lummox's 312 guide, sounds fairly straightforward, any gotcha's people have encountered? |

| use the original VRS flexi-pipes , just undo and move down slightly the pipe bracket on the shocker to get some more slack in the pipe if you clamp the flexi-pipe before disconnecting from the caliper , fluid lose will be at a minimum, and will make it easier to bleed afterwards have fun

| Clamp a reenforced hose? ![]() If I were to offer any advice it would be to watch the thread on the caliper bolts as thanks to wonderful Loctite they can strip the thread out of the hub. |

| All done and dusted! Working well - had 18 mile drive home from mate's house so plenty of gentle testing done. Boy was it hard work getting the old discs off??? In Ross's instructions it said "persuade the old disc"...lol, we were hitting them with hammers for about an hour until in a sudden flash of brilliance (top tip coming up, probably a very old tip that you all knew ) decided to push off the disc with the carrier bolts! Easy peasy!Big thanks to golfturbo for the brake kit, to devonutopia for the bonnet lifter kit which got fitted today and works a treat, and to Dremel without whom fitting the TT arch vent would have been much harder ![]() |
