Who's doing the remap, then I'll take a guess.

As a benchmark I'd say 150bhp/260 lb/ft, and I want to know more about the FMIC in great detail please.

Allard, eh? I've just put 2 & 2 together and realised who they are.

I'd be interested in any FMIC info you can give, maybe a review and some pictures.

Hi Guys,

Allard who fitted the fmic and remapped the fabia are sending me some pics which I will post asap.
Iam going to guess at 160+bhp 260lb/ft from driving it for 2 days, it just flies.
I have the rolling road test on 13/02 - wait n see

Cheers

Usually the BHP and torque go up similar amounts, so I wouldn't be surprised if the 160bhp is true, then you're around 290 lb/ft.

I wait your little RR with baited breath. Might be a silly question, but how was it remapped... I can assume it wasn't on a rolling road. Was it just a switchable remap, or something a bit special.

With Lloyd Allards experience in tuning & racing Diesels I dont think you will be disapointed. The FMIC they built for me on the Octy 4x4 works fantastically !!

For anyone who dosent know of them start here

http://www.allardmotorcompany.com/allard.asp

or here

http://www.allardmotorcompany.com/pa...onversions.asp

Give Lloyd my regards if you talk to him, he will remember from the panic before the Cannonball

If you look at the 3rd & 7th picture on this link you can get an idea of the install on an Octy (counting top left as 1) Thanks to Dennis for hosting once again !!

http://www.briskoda.net/gallery/show...=500&ppuser=19

We didnt have time to mod the bonnet release, if you can do this Lloyd can make it even bigger although I dont think its really neccesary as the temp figures we got on the road were perfectly acceptable & running at 140-150 in Spain there was no loss of Power, much to the disgust of the M3 that got left !!

The fmic cost approx. £700 and the amc special chip £450 including vat
Fitting time, they advised that car was needed for 2 days i took it in at 11:30 am on thursday, late friday night the car was not ready.
They hired me a car and met me on sunday spending an hours travelling to get to me.
I can't say how much the hire car helped me.
Best wishes

Excellent service for me too, Lloyd took time on the day to make sure he knew what I wanted (easier for me because Stuart's car had been done a couple of months earlier), and then again having arranged for a hire car while the work was conducted, on my return he spent time explaining what had been done.

Even praised the car for its performance and general set up (which is nice to know given he does a spot of competitive motorsport as well). I ought to write up a review hadn't I?

I was quoted around the same for the fmic, but the figure didnt include VAT (i think!) I would then take it back to Jabba for a map tweak.

I like the sound of no loss of power

Was always impressed with Allard and their service - they did some basic tuning on my old pug 205 dt when they were basedin Monmouth and they spent ages getting it right.

cheers.

Okay guys so I the rolling road test on 13/02 revealed the following figures:

252.3 lb/ft @ 2713 rpm
150.9 bhp @ 4143 rpm

remember this is from a tdi pd 100 not a vrs model.
Any thoughts about whether iam near the maximum, or would you suggest there is a little left to go?

Cheers

Interesting to see you peak torque is at 2.7K. Is this done to help the clutch? Any chance on posting your graph?

Most important thing is how does it drive.

Sounds good but I suppose the good thing is will be how the power is held with repeated runs because of better IC.

If you have the standard exhaust you should get more torque with a less restrictive one. Fit the cupra intake too.

Any pictures of the ic yet?

Default BHP Graph

Hi,
It does have a cupra intake but the fmic now sits in it's place - so at the moment it's loose. Iam considering a bmc cda intake with custom fabricated mounting.
The car drives really well, it now seems 'free revving'.
I want to compare it (accelaration etc) with a standard furby vrs or golf 1.8t etc but have not found willing participants !
I was a little 'dissapointed' at first with the stats because Revo Technik quote similar figures without fmic. However, I know someone that has their software installed and the increase is not as 'predicted'.
Any thoughts about the grpahs or this text will be welcomed.

Best wishes
