Re: Am I The Only One Not To Have Seen This???

I did not see it, I have seen the Octy advert.

I think it is a big old judging by the plate of the fabia at the end.

I still think Skoda UK need to work on their adverts becuase that one does not do anything for me. In fact Skoda UK if you are reading this then I feel you ought to employ me as a consultant on such matters, and pay me lots of money.

Okey-dokie. Point made.

Like this 207 advert.

Will never see the light of day, but that is to do with it being x rated.

I've seen it on TV, but it was shorter, and ended with practical and exciting.

Why? So people go home and think 'I could do a better job with that advert, therefore I am going to buy the car'

Practical and exciting is an absolute grade A bollacks slogan.

Re: Am I The Only One Not To Have Seen This???

We had that Fabia vRS advert in the South West too.

Maybe Skoda UK will move on from that style of advert soon to ones more like the European ones with the cool Skoda "ding" at the end? Like this one:

http://www.skoda.de/index.php?e=4-8-5

Roomster ad on Eurosport at the moment is ok too.

This ad was on in sunny Hampshire too, although the number of them I see on the roads round here, I'm not sure why they bother

Re: Am I The Only One Not To Have Seen This???

Ah yes, the old trouser press

The version on TV was much shorter, and you do wonder WTF it has to do with a car - by the time it comes to the punchline you've probably lost interest.

Re: Am I The Only One Not To Have Seen This???

It is a very clever advert..

a) It is simply showing you that something that is typicaly seen as boring, i.e a diesel, can actually be rather good fun.

b) Because of the amount of conversation the advert has brought up amongst the more confused members of the nation.

I disagree. Whoever made that advert was not in touch with vRS drivers. The only reason we care is that we have an interst in the car because we are skoda fans anyway. I think what would sell the car is laughing at the common misconceptions of skodas, not a man being chased by a trouser press. If anything it is an advert for an ironing because trouser presses are evil.

I see the fabia vrs being sold by being driven. Why not have someone being chased by something that represents a skoda misconception and it winning somehow.

The catch phrase is coming to me.................

I will come back to this
