NikB on ukmkivs has NOS on his 150PD Anniversary Golf. Refils are charged by the lb and depend on bottle size. Cost per pound depends where you are in the country, if you're near Doncaster then wizards of NOS are very cheap for refills if you pay cash. Give them a call or PM Josh as he used to have NOS on his polo.

1lb nos = about 5quid
so 10lb bottle = 50quid

I want nos but i think a clutch upgrade will be needed first. ide do a 50shot of nos to be safe.

i dont think you can get mental power nos kits on a diesel anyways.
It generates heat and heat is bad for a diesel engine. unlike a petrol engine.

NOS works better on a diesel than a petrol

That the MkIII with 90bhp too!

And didn't it take on a NSX... it certainly didn't embarass itself either!

I personally would be to worried about the long term effects it had on my engine!

Now tell me how in the hell that is possible when you can only get a max of about 4.5k rpm on a diesel while on a petrol you'll have OVER 6.2k rpm to play with, and if it's a Jap car, upto 7k rpm? You'll have to be lightning quick in shifting gears to make maximum efficient use of NOS in a diesel.

The rev range on a diesel might be short but the gearing is tall to make use of all that torque. Work it out

Okay then. Go and tell someone who is in the modding industry that you make better use of NOS in a diesel than a petrol, then I'll believe it. If diesels work on injection just like a gasoline engine, I don't see how quality of burning is any different, better yet 'better'. A diesel has no spark plugs, intakes air and compresses it, and then injects the fuel directly into the combustion chamber. A petrol has the plugs, makes maximum efficient use of fuel and burns everything off, AND can run over 6,000 revs where a diesel can't.

Explain it to me if I'm wrong.

Please note that I'm not angry or pist I just re-read my post and noticed how pist I can sound, but I ain't. Just explain it to me

Ask anyone in the know and they will tell you, it's due to the chemical makeup of NOS and the fact diesel make use of all the available air in NOS.

Liquid Nitrous Oxide, when injected into the air intake of a car breaks down from 2 Nitrous, 1 Oxygen into 3 Oxygen when it is subjected to the high combustion temperatures inside the engine.

You then need to overfuel the car like a b1tch to compensate for this, or else you'll lean out the engine and put a hole in your piston.

On a petrol car, this is done by injecting fuel and liquid Nitrous Oxide together into the air intake.

On a diesel car, you can either remap the car to max out the injectors at WOT, or you can inject propane as well as the Nitrous Oxide.

As stated by EddyH, NikB off of UK-MKIVS has been running a 50 Shot and a special JBS / Revo Map (then later on a proper Custom-Code map) along with a Sachs clutch and Quaife ATB Diff, and Milltek exhaust.

His car kicked some serious *** on the strip.

I kept my Nitrous kit off my Polo for a while after buying the Fabia, but I decided against fitting it because I didn't want to have to buy a new clutch at that point, so I sold the kit.
