| It means that the rear-view mirror automatically dims when the car behinds headlights shine on it, rather that you having to dip it by hand ![]() Chris

| Had an ebay around and the mondeos and fiestas had them, it was a sensor and a polarising screen on the mirror run from a 12V feed from the interior light. |

This implies the mirror only requires an ignition feed | |

| Have it as standard on my Superb. Its a nice touch, the mirror goes a deep blue without any asking, and is more dependant on ambient light (it always dims itself when I park it in the garage, or start up from the garage)

| For the moment, I'm still the custodian (briskodian?) of a Superb, and this was one of the features that caught my eye. It's a trick gadget, but I would say that the standard mirror on the furby certainly seems to remove more glare - if I understand it correctly, I don't believe the auto-dimming mirror works in the same way as a regular mirror i.e. like a prism, and IMO the fully dimmed auto-dimming mirror can still be more dazzling than a manual one... just my opinion, feel free to have a different one ![]()
