Default Banging noise from the rear

there's a banging noise from the rear of my 1.4 x reg fabia.when i go faster then 20mph and go over holes in the roads there is a noise like is coming from under the car at the drivers side.
when the road is is in good con there is no noise.i've pushed down each corner of the car and suspension seems fine.
i've had a quick look under the car but not enough space to get further under.
it started after i went with the dog too the park this morning where their is speed bumps on the road outside but i don't drive fast over them.
when i bought it the garage said one of the rubbers on the exhaust was missing but they had fixed it,could it have gone missing again ?
thanks

err i havent got it in any particlurar way on but theres a screw on platic bolt that goes inside the tool box throught to the spare wheel (center) and then onto the floor once thats tightend, it should be fine and secure also maybe bits arn't put in place properly it should be fine afterwards i remember it used to happen all the time when i drove over speedhumps

hope that helps

i have the same problem - getting bored of taking it back to the dealer now! taken it 3 times now - and the problem is still there!

it really is frikking annoying too! The dealers have checked everything, and even replaced the back seat clips....

i will ring tomorrow to book it in again! but ill have to wait yet another month to get a c / car, and if it doesnt get fixed, it will have to be another month again etc!

i checked my spare wheel, and that was loose, but that was not the problem. I personally belive its the exhaust on the car. But its not every bump for some reason.

The roads next to the dealer have a smooth surface, so im not even sure if they can hear the noise.

Look at your rear bump stops ; they may have perished and dropped onto the shocker; when you hit a bump they bang around; sounds very loud and worse than it is.
Cheap and easy to replace.

Default i know what it is

went to the exhaust centre this aft but it wasn't a mounting that was broke.they had it up the ramp, went for a test drive but said didn't know what it was.they told me to goto the dealer (fat chance)
so went to my one man garage,he was closing up but we went for a test drive,he said the noise was coming from the front left.
it went on the ramp and within 10 mins said it was the ANTI-ROLL BAR BUSH on the chassis.
so have to find a cheap bush somewhere.
hope this helps others !

James

Several numbers for the ARB bushes depending on ARB size. Only about £1.90 +VAT each. I would say get them from the dealer to make sure you get the right ones.

There are also revised Drop Links for the Fabia, it may be worth getting them checked as well. Not too expensive and the garage time for changing them is 11 mins.
