| It really should be replaced, not a fail on an MOT but its pretty common.

| the hardest part of doing that is removing the plastic inner arch trim to gain access to the upper mounting bolts.. the bump stops are about £7 iirc like stu says.... easy

| I have just noticed exactly the same thing on my 04 Fabia vRS while I had it jacked up last night. The car has done 55,000 miles and only one of the bump stops appears to have split like this. Is it necessary to replace these as a pair? and is it best while doing it to replace the whole shock absorber, or can you get aray with just replacing the bump stops. Finally is this likely to bean MOT failure or just an advisory? my MOT is due shortly so if I need to get these replaced first, I need to get going. Quote:

| Hi, no need to replace the pair or the shock you just need to replace the bump stop. Ive done another 20k now and the shock is fine. |
