Default Choosing Pads + Discs on a MPi

On our older car (1.4 MPi) it is reaching time for Pads+Discs on the Front - and I am pysched to doing them at a budget (its not our performance driven vehicle) - but not skimping on safety.

However.....not sure what to go for the parts route, but I have a feeling this will easily reach 1/2 of the cost of just having them done, in which case it might just be better off in fact doing just that.

I CAN get genuine brand new Bosch disc pair for just £28 as I happen to be in a useful position to get a discount on these. This seems like a GOOD start.
Unfortunately though they don't offer Pads and I am a bit surprised that these reach the same costs as disc pairs.

Is it a dodgy route to look at new Pads on eBay - what the hell kind of pads are these for instance? Has anyone come across Motrio as a Branding ?
Otherwise can anyone please help suggest anywhere else I can get good decent budget or great priced pads for the standard Fabia without compromising Brake performance?
I used to use Eurocarparts for VW a long time ago but they would hit me £60 for pads (I know, I am being a complete pikey but its the partners car !)

Default Re: Choosing Pads + Discs on a MPi

Well I decided on these cost effective brakes for our MPI from brakes4u.co.uk - standard EBC jobs and a very nice price too.

Part No: DP1329
Product Name: Front Pads " Both Wheels "
Quantity: 1
Unit Price: £22.64

So including the new Bosch discs I am looking at not far off £50 in total for a full Frontal refurb (for the "slow" furby - the "faster" furby has been still been only reasonably run in!).
Thats value I reckon.

Did you try GSF? They used to be cheap for stuff like that.

Thanks for commenting. Well as its a bit too late at this time as I got the parts, well no I haven't but I did take opportunity to look (but at this price margin, who cares).

I think I glanced over them y/day before the final decision, they looked interesting - I think about £25 before post so very cost effective too.
Only problem with that site - too much choice/part codes = too confusing, and no clarification as to whether "set" means a fullset for both wheels.

Same with other sites like eurocarparts....I think they clarified by phone as "per wheel" so I was very careful how to proceed as it would have cost 2x perhaps with an order to them ( or incorrectly suited parts to complete a job) . Either that or the person on the phone had no clue what they were talking about.

Brakes4u made it crystal within the focus of the website/order, plus a known brand to me with standard EBC's so they got my money. Thats what buying online is ALL about (even on cheapo purchases like this) - make it easy for me to buy what I want, without question. Something for all shops and sellers to take note - even ebay sellers can manage that.
