| vRS - Cost of First Service I have just spent 10 mins speaking to my three closest main dealers (inc the one I bought the car from) and have the following three quotes; 1. £175 - this is the dealer I bought the car from! 2. £145 3. £87 I have been told that it is simply a oil and filter change taking no longer than 45 mins. The cheapest dealer has told me that their hourly labour rate is £42. It is outrageous that 3 main dealers within 50 miles of each other have such huge discrepancies in what they charge. Guess where I'm going .............. Hope this encourages you to shop around. |

| If one does 12k miles per year and after 10k miles and 10 months you get a 10k oil service, does that mean you have to get an annual one in another 2 months 2k miles time?? Or does than annual one only for low milage cars e.g. 6k per annum?

| It's only worth alternating between lube and annual services if you are doing close to 20k a year or more. If you are only doing 12k a year then you will need to have the annual service done every 10k.

the way i see it is that you MUST have a lube service at 10K and regardless of mileage an annual service every 12 months!! | |

| This has been discussed several times. I was one who does 18-20K a year. Car was 7 months old at 10K. Various dealers wanted to charge me the full £140 for an annual service. Eventually local dealer said it IS a lube service as the car is only 6 months old. Paid £57. Now its approaching a year old with 18k. So that will be an 20K ANNUAL service about £180. |
