| Hi, This is my first post so please bare with me. I have a 2004 Fabia VRS with which I am very pleased. Yesterday I had cupra console bushes fitted and a new arb to cure a slight suspension knock. This seems to have worked and the handling is also much sharper, as expected having read lots of threads prior to getting the work done. However today something has started creaking at low speeds. It sounds like it is eminating from the console bushes. I just wondered if any one else has experienced this problem after a bush change. Your comments would be most appreciated. Andy |

| Were they fitted with the required bush lube.

| Forgive my ignorance but what are 'console' bushes?

| Hi, as far as I'm aware they were assembled with the lube, but without actually going back to my mechanic and asking the question. I've had a look and there does appear to be some copper grease or something similar around the console bushes and the arb bushes. Funny thing is there was no creaking yesterday straight after the fitting! |

| Mine creaked for a bit after I fitted them myself - sprayed some WD-40 in their centers and they settled down afterwards. Only the correct VAG lube should be used - other types remain and allow the bush to rotate about in use. Copper grease isn't the correct lube to use. I used washing up liquid which worked well as an emergency substitute...... HTH Bas

| Thanks for your reply Basil, I'll try giving them a squirt of WD40 in the centre. I take it then that it's the wishbone moving in the bush that causes the creaking? Stewart FYI - The console bushes are the front wishbone rear bushes. These bushes sit in castings that hold the suspension to the bottom of your car. The castings are called consoles, hence the term 'console bush' |

| Just an outside chance, but if you you were as unlucky as me, one or both bushes may have been fitted in reverse - this means that the spigot and the tapered section of the TCA tend to foul the flat face of the rear of the bush - this flat face should be facing the rear of the car and the front face has a stepped profile to avoid this happening. |
