Red face Due a service :D

This being my second car, and the first with service history (full at that) I fancy keeping it up.
The car was last serviced at 39500 miles on the 26/6/2006 , and had cam belts changed at 41335 (5/10/2006). So I think its due one this month

Anywho, popped down a couple of days ago to the dealers and was told the annual service price is £150 ish for my car - and forgot to ask if it includes a loan car Any ideas if it does?
Also, do you think its worth getting a Y reg car serviced?
Ta folks

It's worth getting every car serviced no matter how old... but not neccesarily at the main dealer unless something very specialist needs doing!

It's definately worth keeping the service history up to date , although whether you want to go to a main dealer or a VAG independant is entirely up to you. My old V reg has a full set of stamps in its book from the same garage it was bought from (even though they are no longer anything to do with Skoda , just a 'Skoda Specialist').

Yeah, it was bought from a proper Skoda dealer and consistantly serviced at the same place so it would look nicer if it kept getting the same stamp right through

It depends why you're doing it. I don't think you'll help the resale by doing it - most people will just check it's been serviced on time, but if you can afford to, then why not

ditto what he said. Don't think you'll be 'making yourself money', but do ensure you keep to the relevant servicing schedules.

Re: Due a service :D

Would be going to an independent if it were mine, at that age. Either a VAG/Skoda specialist, who hopefully has been recommended.

Seconded
Knew someone who had a Nissan (oldish) coupe, probably worth about £2-3k.
Paid some astronomical amount for main dealer servicing 'for the stamp'. I explained that by the time they were going to get rid of it the car would probably be worth £1500 so the 'main dealer stamp' wouldn't make a huge difference i.e. get it serviced at an independent and let them stamp it up.
I've been using an independent for over 20 years - 2 actually, the 1st for 8 years and the 2nd for the last 12 years or more - and in both cases the guys really did know their stuff.

Just sound out friends, relatives, acquaintances etc for the best and then go there
