| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? problems are it sounds rubbish compared to a petrol dumpvalve, does nothing for performance and costs one heck of a lot of money. I would personally spend that money on a Jabba ARB, if you've not already. ![]()

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? Had one on my Father in Law's Honda Civic 2.0 tdi. Must admit, combined with a Hayward and Scott full exhaust system, it sounded very nice! |

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? in my opinion its only the amount it costs stopping people getting one on the TDI's. the question keeps coming back again and again so shows there are plenty of people out there willing to put one on their own car but instead follow the rest like a sheep because they say you shouldnt because diesels dont get any performance increase. there is no reason in my eyes why you shouldnt get one. thats like saying every person with a dump valve on their petrol cars have done it only for its performance and couldnt care less if it makes a noise. B0ll0ks! if youve got the cash and want one, get one.

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? Yeah but it serves a purpose on a petrol car, doesnt on a diesel. |

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? If you've heard it, next to a Petrol's dumpvalve. They don't sound much different. ![]() The video's don't do the sound any justice. |

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? i know a dump valve doesnt serve any purpose other than the noise on a diesel, which in my eyes is the main reason you would get one anyway (petrol or diesel ). It pi$$es me off when people say you shouldnt get one because people will say you drive round in something that sounds like a bus.

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? A dump valve on a petrol functions and is required (why it is fitted as standard). None of the recirclulating upgrades for the Octavia etc offer a 'noise' as such unless combined with a CAI. I have no problem with cars making noise, I have a problem with £300 kits that make a noise. Be better off spending £50 on one of them speaker kits that just makes the noise if thats all you want it for. |

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? I think its down to individual choice I think they are quite funky ( and if you drive a diesel it sounds like a bus/ van/truck/lorry anyhow) compared to a pertrol. If they were not so expensive i think i would have one just to be different to the rest.

| Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? By Dump valve I take it you mean a 'blow off' valve? From what I understand it can actually damage your car. Below is an extract from the Miltek website, whilst advertising their Hyperboost HXC Compact Diverter Valves: A blow-off valve sends the "boosted" air into the atmosphere rather than the airbox/air filter. This is why they usually make a loud noise from the air releasing. This offers no real performance gain and in most all cases will cause sophisticated engine management systems, like in the VW or Audi cars, to incur errors and drivability issues. Am I not correct in assuming our engines, along with Seat are the same as the VW/Audi engines, being in the VAG and all. Hope I've been of help..... Link below if you want to read for yourself. | Re: dump valves on vrs any probs?? That would apply to petrol engines. Diesels dont have one in the first place. |
