| Please can someone help me. Ive just put in my second sony headunit and fm signal is great but for some reason when i switch to mw or lw i get a noise whilst im driving. It is the revving of the engine and also if i brake or switch something on like the windscreen wipers or lights i hear a click coming through the radio. I have connected the radio with the iso leads and also i have bought a signal booster but it hasnt done anything. PLEASE can someone let me know what this is and how do i get red of it??????? |

Sounds to me as if there is a earth problem ! this could take some finding, first you need a multimeter, and check all connections and make sure ALL earths are ok, start at the antenna, and check the continuity from the center connector to the plug, then check the earth. again check the radio connections are good and tight. Then comes the hard bit, check connections in and around the engine bay, ie the alternator, earth leads to and from engine and body, any earth straps on the bonnet. If all that fails, you might have to get filters on all the things like Alternator, Wipers, and any thing else that makes a noise. Hope that helps, but I don't think there is a quick answer to the problem. Steve | |
