fab vRS vs saxo vts

i know racing is a big no etc but other day i was driving down a dual carriage way and this vts came in my rear view, i didnt put my foot because i had my 2 year old niece in with me, but it got me wondering a vRS is like 130bhp and a vts is like 125bhp but weighs less than a fart.

anyone been pitched against one before?

Depends how good the VTS driver is... Fabia would stand a chance at high speeds.. but not off the lights to 60

True....... i used to own a VTS Great handling...... CRAP car IMHO though......thought it was great back then though

I have reason to believe that a remapped Octavia vRS will dispose of one with ease

It's a bit long in the tooth this one. The Citroen is quick (so what) my Sister had one and it was fast & rubbish. Who cares if it is 10'ths quicker than the Fabia off the lights, it falls apart and is driven mostly by lads & ladettes with basey caps on. Nuff said.

Living in Essex aka Saxo county, I can assure you that an Octy vRS on KW3's and a few other items will also lose them on the bendy bits.
Or so I'm told....Because none of us would ever race one on the highway...................

Awesome chassis though. That and the 106GTi are one of the best handling small cars money can buy, even today.

Had one or two ding-dongs with saxo vts's. My Fabia VRS is definitely quicker in a straight line, not sure about corners though, i am a big wuss and never go quickly round corners.

Try driving into something in a PAXO - you'll see that it has all the crash protection of a crisp packet. Then do something sensible and get a Fabia!

They're actually surprisingly solid, as was the AX before it. I was involved in a 90mph+ collision into an all-but stationary Sierra in an AX and both myself and the driver hobbled away, anyone in the back of the Sierra would have been dead. Would have been nice to have had airbags though :ouch:

I'd rather crash at 30mph into a wall in a happy meal box than a saxo.

I wrote my saxo 1.0l off, rolled it though a hedge, it didn't handle well either, but regardless the airbag didn't go off.. Now that was a nippy little number.

Since then i decided i didn't want to have my legs cut off by the clutch pedal so i have a fabia now.

Trouble with VTS are they are bloody quick.... Guess they must have the same power to weight ratio as me? I tend to even be wary of VTRs to be honest. Usually, they're being driver by total to55ers anyway, so its less dangerous if I simply let them get on with it, instead of getting myself in potentially lethal circumstances (to them, I'd be OK )

Nah, trouble is that most of them are 'slammed' to the floor, have M3 door mirrors, tacky decals, black windows, bit like strapping a rocket to a shopping trolley. It goes like stink but looks erm ..... $hite

The thing is, the Fabia vRS is a great car, superb build quality etc, but that makes for one very lardy car, hence the Fabia rolls about like a boat, but is still brutally quick in a straight line in the mid range.

A Saxo has ****e build quality, hence its light, handles superbly, and is still pretty darn quick in a staight line.

On a twisty b road blast, the Saxo will win, by a long way, imho.

but there is more to life than driving a tin can and being a Ch4v. Yes it would leave a FAB VRS standing but hey i'd say the majority of VRS drivers didn't by the car for being fast and good handling, as for the Ch4v VTS driver their main aim when buying a car is to go fast for little expense as possible, they achieve this but unfortunatly they have nothing else going for them. They are cars for stupid people

never heard of a lupo gti then?? they are solid, handle very well, also have 125bhp, quick too!
