Hi guys im new to the forum and would like some info if possible? My vrs 2004 model earlier today for some reason the passenger door wont open. Ive tried various things and cant get it open. On the other three doors he solenoid is making a noise but on that door it doesnt? The car alarm went off half hour before when a lorry went past. Dont know if could be related. Any ifo would be greatly appreciated thanks

i left my car for a few days and for some reason the door unlocked so i have taken the door lock out and was wondering if this is a skoda only part or does motor factors sell them? Also do the locks come with all the rivets for the aluminium internal panel etc?

Seeing as it's all controlled by the convenience unit, and the door unlocked by itself, my first guess would be a problem with that (i.e. software) rather than the lock itself (hardware). I'd put it back together personally, and see if it does it again. If so, try removing the relevant fuse (look in your manual) for a few seconds and replacing it, to do a sort of 'soft reset'... Hope this helps

thanks for the reply, i tried pulling the fuse out before to reset the door but with no joy. My neighbour spoke to someone he knows in skoda who told him that sometimes the interior switch on the drivers side (to lock/unlock the doors) which sometimes corrode? Im wondering if due to heavey rain the condensation int he door helped to make a connection? Also he said that the door locks fail. I have put the lock back in temporarily to shut the door but have had to tape the window up as not fitted the aluminium panel! ![]()
