Fabia Rear Brakes

Hi there chaps & chapesses,

I have had a quick search but I'm in a hurry, the Fabia vRS is going in today for some warranty work and I need some answers....

The items on the list are:

1) The rear window looks to be having the common de-laminating fault

2) The rear brake 'mooing' fix

3) The flap motors are sticking

The dealer has said that number 3 is warranty but they were not sure about 1 & 2.

Are they all warranty stuff and they are tryimg to take the p!ss?

Thanks people.

Ben

p.s. if somebody does know and replies, I'll acknowledge it and the thread can be deleated by a mod.

Sort of,

It's all going white and it looks to be peeling but if you lift the talegate, there is nothing on the inside that looks to be peeling off.

It goes in about 40mm from the edges of the glass at the bottom.

Motorline Canterbury have it at the moment and they are pertty good, so I'll find out shortly me hopes!

Interesting driving a petrol courtesy car after the vRS!

Mine doesnt sound as bad as yours it just looks mucky around the bottom left of the outer edge. Might try a cotton bud to clean and if no look ill go say somthing to the stealer.

Re: Fabia Rear Brakes

I have a 07 'old' fabia ambient, woo hoo.

Pulled away from the dealers waiting for the turbo and then thought....ahh....no.

They just called, bits are being done on Thursday this week.

Flap motors are knackred so being done, sounds quite a job if they are behind the dash?

Brakes too so no more mooing.

Re: Fabia Rear Brakes

I think they are a small motor type thing to vary the temperature of the air entering the cabin, but they do get stuck.

When the air con is on in mine, the air will suddenlly get hot and stay there for a while and go back to normal.

Do excuse me for being dumb, but warranty work is free isn't it not just the parts, only the dealer was saying something about a warranty bill?

I reset mine via a VAG COM and it sorted my flap motor.
Fingers crossed.

The way i understand warrenty is. They look at the car to see what needs doing etc, They go do you want us to fix it. You say yes. Then they ask Skoda if they will pay. If not you get the bill.
SO in other words Warrenty work covers Labour and Parts.

I was going to get charged for my 7th repair on the rear leaking doors. HAHAHA
They tryed saying due to the car being modded, it made the door leak

Somone will correct me if iam wrong.

I wish people wouldn't use expressions such as "mooing" without explaining what it means as stutter what does it mean?

Re: Fabia Rear Brakes

My Fabia vRs makes a mooing noise when you reverse, I think its vibration in the rear calipers and there is a warranty fix for it.

Not sure about the stutter, mine is older than the modification. I have never been in one with it but perhaps its slight hesitation, somebody who has one may be able to expand on this?
