Default FABIA sdi vibration

I have a 2001 Fabia SDi with a most annoying soft vibration when under load. it feels like a misfire on a petrol engine but there are no engine running faults. You can feel it most at low revs in the 3rd, 4th and 5th gears when accelerating. It is felt through the throttle pedal, gear stick and general body-you back off the throttle and it goes away. Someone has suggested a problem with the flywheel-dual mass-any ideas, anyone?

My thought would be the dual mass flywheel, didn't know SDIs (other than mine ) suffered from it. Tis possible though. Is at about 1800rpm, gone by 2200 under heavy load?

Checked with Skoda UK technical today-no SDis are fitted with dual mass flywheels-they all have solid ones. Just as well I suppose, they are over £300. I think a rolling road may be the way to go.

How this pan out?
My Octy 1.9 Tdi suffering from this type of vibration (wobble), you can feel it right through the car. Reading through this site it looks as though it could be Dual Mass Flywheel related. But it would be interesting if you got the problem sorted...

No, I never got it sorted.. It went away for a while, or seemed to. It's my wife's car and I don't drive it much. I suspect that her driving style is such that she doesn't feel it much, so I didn't investigae further.

Could it be the engine mounts?

I've got this problem at the moment, acceleration in 5th and 6th at around 1800 revs, a judder like driving over a rumble strip. I think this is the fly complaining at the level of torque being asked for. Gutted, as I know people running 360 ft torque with no problems and I’m only running 290 ish. I'm thinking the remap is asking for the torque a bit low down, as with the map off there is no problem under full load, uphill in 6th from 2000 revs.

Interesting to hear other peoples experiences with flywheel issues, as it seems a random mix of mapped and unmapped cars suffer, regardless of the state of tune. could it be driving style???
