fecked windscreen (me pay? they pay?)

driving home from work today, starts to rain patchy... pop on the window wiperoos to find a flyer from the cafe we get out lunch from pop out from behind my tax disk.

avoiding the inevitable scuffed looking silly driving with a flyer floating about, i turn em off and brave the storm.

two minutes later its like driving in the rain midlands a couple of weeks ago.

had to turn em on.

got home to find basturdin hundreds of light scuffs in an ark all across the window!!!!

tried windolining them away then shouting really loud at them, but nothing works.

its prob gona be cheaper to pay the excess on a replacement, will they pay?

do they have to?

got em on camera in subway carpark if it helps my cause????

oh, and, grrrrrr!! how anoying is that! had a weeks driving out of it after buying it and being down for raf interviews!!

Could you have reasonably stopped and removed the flyer? If yes then you may not have a leg to stand on. I believe that in cases like this you can claim damages only so long as you have taken all reasonable steps to minimize the effects of the problem........

IS there a lawyer in the house who can better answer this?

Try 'T' cut, or an abrasive polish, this 'could' work.

I would have thought washing it using a brush then cleaning with Autoglym Glass Cleaner should do the trick.

If not burn the cafe down.

Go to Halfords and get some glass cutting compound, should do the trick - its only paper at the end of the day!

Yep, can't really see how a paper-based flyer has done any degree of permanent damage.

As Tom says, a cutting compound will do the trick, or Autoglym Glass Polish...

Re: fecked windscreen (me pay? they pay?)

will try the glas cut.

was a bit of a rage-impulse type earlier.

wasnt really feasable to stop as after 4/5 wiped it blew off, just that damage was done by then.

shocked at the damage that a bit of card has done, but its more the volume than the deapth, so hopefully will be ok

Presumably, the screen wouldn't have been utterly clean before you started wiping. Instead of the wipers clearing the dust/grit, the paper/card could have held it and scoured the screen.

Try glass cleaner, alternatively I've heard that toothpaste can be used to do the job.
