Have a read of this mate.

http://www.carpages.co.uk/skoda/skod...cho=1047433395

Have to say though - You bought a car without being sure what it had or what it could do

Search for the Alarm info it's been covered before. There is some confusion between CAT1 & CAT2.

There's no confusion at Thatcham's official website - it's clearly listed as being a CAT1 alarm - check out http://www.thatcham.org/resources/pdfs/compliance.pdf - page 13 just over half way down; Elegance and vRS from Sept 03 listed - thus CAT 1 alarmed.

Page 25 lists remaining models from Mar 00 as being only CAT2 immobilised.

No point in getting a "better" alarm unless you're really concerned about theft and want a "better than CAT 1" system.

ASL you mean ASR ???

Anti Slip Reduction or something like that ..... It works by cutting the engine power when the wheels start to spin.. It's not brilliant as you still get a small amount of spin IMHO but it serves it's purpose I suppose.
