Default Fuel filler flap

Hi,

Does anyone know where I can get the spring that pushes the fuel filler flap on 2002? I have lost mine. BTW what is it called?

Retaining Spring, p/n 6Y6809857 ?

check vagcat.com and have a look for yourself, you will need to register to use it.

Are you sure the connector has not just become disconnected from the inside? This is the usual cause of the fuel filler cap not actually closing fully shut.

what he said - before anything else pull back the boot carpet trim and look at the little cable at the flap.
Often it pops out and doesnt work. Tape/wire ties it in it's little connector (you'll see what I mean).
