Green pannel filter or K&N

Both to replace the original one (to put them instead the original filter in the original box). Which is better? What are pros and cons if you compare them?

Some professionals suggest the K & N is oilier straight out of the box and so has the potential to knacker your MAF.....and a number on here swear by the Green filter as being kinder in that regard.
That said, what car/engine is it for?

I think the K&N is much lower maintenance as you don't have to clean and re-oil as frequently.

K&N ; good quality and fit but oil may/matnot coat MAF
Green not as good fit ; not oiled
Pipercross; good fit not oiled and cheaper

The Green's are oiled - it's how they trap dirt to filter the air.....

I pondered this same question over on the Octy forum; I now have a brand new Green Filter sitting on my desk in my office. I am going to fit at the weekend as the car is going to the dealers on Friday.
I had a K&N in my Landy and had no problems.
The Green Filter has got oil on it, Sarah from JBS said blow it out with air every six months and then clean and re-oil every year, how difficult is that.
Let you know next week how it goes.

I'm after a panel filter for mine, was wondering the same thing.

Probably sway towards a K&N seem to be around £45 though

I see group buy has been mentioned, i'll be up for that

How many miles did you do in you Landy with K&N?

Not very many, the wife made me sell it before I got full use of it. Saying that the miles that it did do were very hard as I used the vehicle for Green Laneing and other very hard driving. Loads of water mud and dust the engine compartment was often submerged, and the K&N did not slip up at all.

After seeing the state of the paper filter in my Disco after some "tame" () offroading and green laning, I couldn't bring myself to buy a K&N and just bought myself 3 or 4 more paper filters to destroy Saying that, I didn't get through many of them after I had the Snorky fitted so it probably would have been fine

I'm VERY happy with mine. It fits perfectly as well. How much more is a K&N one? If its more dont waste your money

Dunno about for the Fabia, but for the Mondeo the K+N was £15 cheaper which was the deciding factor in buying one. Quite a few shops advertising on eBay who sell them too....

I ran a K&N on my pug 205 GTI for 170 000 miles...yes 170k...no bore wear probs or valve issues. Had to scrap it just before xmas....took off the trick head to sell on ebay....bores were perfect no step at the top ans valve seats clean aswell.

Hope to get my vRS by March.....will fit a K&N instantly
