| I've bought a few items to try and heatshield the airbox/intake pipes etc in the vRS. Original thread is here I'm trying to work out which 'bits' to cover in particular with regards airbox/intake pipe etc. The box itself - yep identified that ![]() PD160 intake pipe - that one is ok too. Next bit is I'm guessing the pipe that feeds the turbo (fairly thick) running from airbox. Are there any other air-carrying pipes from the airbox itself? I've got a FMIC which of course helps a fair bit, I'm guessing I'd have to cover/shield the 'cold' size post-FMIC to get the best effect? The exhaust side of things seems to be pretty much to wrap up starting at the front, assuming I can get to it not expecting too much grief there TBH.There are also heat-retaining wrappers for turbos but they seem dangerous to me as it would increase the chance of burning up crud in the turbo if you don't allow it to spin down/cool down, so definitely won't be bothering with that. Thanks Andy for answering my questions on this so far ![]() Any pics on this would be great

| to tell you the truth i can't see it being that much of a viable job to try and protect the intercooler pipes from heat , the main heat producer is the turbo and exhaust but you've already dismissed the turbo heat wrap (probably for the best for the reasons you suggest) you could probably wrap the the large pipe from the airbox , but the exhaust and inlet manifolds are on the same side of the head so there is always going to be a large area of heat soak , i suppose you could do the intercooler pipes in the engine bay . why not try to release some of the heat from the engine bay , tastefully done bonnet louvres or run with no undertray
