| Briskodian | Help - Fabia aerial/base problem I have to replace the base unit & aerial on a 2001 Fabia hatch because the thread the aerial screws into is all rusted out. I've got a replacement base unit & aerial from a dealer, but the connector on the new base unit is very slightly different to my original & doesn't fit the existing aerial lead under the headlining. The part numbers on the original & new are the same (1U0 035 505B) although the packing says it is an Octavia aerial (presume they are all the same anyway...?) The original one has a connector just like a TV aerial but the new one just has a plastic ring in the middle - no inner/outer contact. Anyone know what my options are here - have I just been sent the wrong part, is there some kind of adapter to fit a newer one to the existing aerial lead, or what? Thanks. |

| Re: Help - Fabia aerial/base problem I called my dealer today about aerials because the reception on my radio is pretty poor. There are two different aerials for the Fabia. Does the mast from the new one unscrew and detach completely or is it one of the anti-theft / lay flat type? Your original will probably be one like mine which detaches completely, so if the new one is not like that it's probably the wrong one.
