Exclamation Help required - Reversing light warranty issue........

OK people - need some help with a warranty issue that i'd like to have advice on prior to going into the dealer on Friday morning with.............

Other half has a 1.2 Ambiente with 3 months Skoda warranty remaining.
Recently the reversing light has failed. Got into it over the weekend and low and behold, there is NO issue with any bulb/s. Have read through the forum posts to find that this a regular occurrence, in that the reverse switch is at fault (gearbox end if i'm correct??)

Phoned the dealer today to book it in for the fault to be fixed and they've informed my other half that it probably 'WON'T' be covered by the warranty !! SHOCK/HORROR

Anyone have any advice as to what can be said to have this rectified, as it is an obvious re-occurring problem throughout the earlier Fabia model.

Any help much appreciated. John.

I certainly had mine changed under warranty, I cant see why they wouldnt, if they really want to lose a customer over a £20 sensor i would take a trip to your next nearest dealer.

Take it to Chichester, Chris will sort it out for you. Alternatively ask them to explain why it won't be covered.

Cheers already guys........ (Stu, i knew i could rely on you being up still ! LOL.

OK - some more info...........
Fabia was brought from Sparshatts in Fareham and is now in Sheffield with the other half. (Good old Barry-very nice bloke too)
Girlfriend has called 'Gordon Lamb' of Chesterfield as they are nearest to her works. Alternative is Bickerton's of Sheffield, who i have dealt with several times now and have had absolutely fantastic service and advice from.

Didn't go too much on Gordon Lamb's when we were searching to buy either!

Any other thoughts now?

Ahh see now we have more info - bah, only half the story.

As before mate really, get them to explain, in writing if necessary, why it isn't being repaired.

Perhaps they thinks that it's just the bulbs (don't trust customer diagnosis), because I would imagine that bulbs are considered as wear and tear items.

Got a good result in the end everyone - The dealer took the car in and someone in service had a bit of knowledge regarding the reverse light issue. Warranty is being used to cover the switch and there are apparently 2x different one's available, so the service mechanic has ordered the correct 1 for the 1.2 Ambiente and other half has to take it back on Wednesday for it to be fitted - RESULT and pleased with the response - cheers everyone.

John.
