Instrument Dials in Fabia

Hi all,

I saw a rather cool photo of a Fabia's instrument dial in one of the albums here.

It has that black background, blue lettering and red dials - something like the Golf I think...

Is that an aftermarket dashboard/instrument panel or original in a Fabia RS?

I drive the 2001 Classic 1.4 manual.

I'm thinking of getting one to fit into mine if it's not too difficult to fix or too expensive to purchase...

Any leads on where I can get them and what I should look out for?

Any other aftermarket options that I can take look besides those?

Thanks all,
Smiths

Sounds like a retrofit from a VW or aftermarket one. Does the Polo have these as it may be possible to retrofit to the Fabia, but would involve using VAG-COM to do some recodings. Not an easy job, but I believe EddyH has done it on his Octy so he may be able to help.

If I could have a look at a standard fabia instrument cluster out of the car I would have a better idea if it could be easily done.

It does take quite a bit of work though. The most awkward part of the illumination change though was the LED's in the switches which aren't common with the Golf. The instrument cluster was difficult purely because it was a learning process for me and as far as I could tell had not been done before but I could now do the instrument swap on an Octavia in around 30mins.

Hmm...looks like a bit of elbow grease needed.

Thought I could get one of an aftermarket specialist...
